Legendary senior writer jclombardi discusses recent NFL popularity polls about America's team.
Recently we had two polls picking the Packers to be either first or second in terms of popularity for the prize of "America's team."
First, the public policy poll said the Packers are the real America's team (back in December, 2011) with a much larger 22% of voters saying the Packers are their favorite team in the NFL versus the smaller 11% for the Cowboys. Now, ESPN comes out with its "America's team" poll.. In a recent poll based upon a sampling of 1,500 Americans, ESPN said that the Dallas Cowboys are the most popular NFL team in the country. The Cowboys beat the Packers by only 1.6 % meaning 7.8% versus 7.2%.
Considering the difference between the two at the top of the poll is only a very small percentage, we consider the matter moot favoring the Packers to be "America's team" based upon the consensus results of the two polls. THE PACKERS ARE THE REAL AMERICA'S TEAM!
